Pressure (feat. Jay Z)

[Lupe Fiasco]
Roc-A-Fella, 1st AND!!
Jay... Lupe!
Yeah, uhh

[Verse #1: Lupe Fiasco]
And so it seems that I'm, sewing jeans
And, 1st and 15 is just a sewing machine
So I, cut the pattern and I, sew in seams
And, button in this hustling then publically, I'm Buddy Lee
There's no bustin' them and cuffin' them is like
Ushering in the regime, they want me to make Prince pants
But I withstand, I ain't gotten into that
A little big in the waist, two-pocket on the back
Call them Lu-vi's, O.G.'s covered in blue dye
Give 'em the game, that's like giving chocolate to the fat
Look, how you think I got here?
That's the same game that came through where I lived as a kid
In the bad luck truck and threw boxes off the back
Made me a ripper, deliver like river
Content a little more thicker, slicker
Yeah, and they said oil and water don't mix
Now they all down at the beach washing off the fish
Was Blackbeard 'til I brought the Roc into your ships
YEAH!

[Chorus: Gemini]
It's my life (my life),

Everything I do I do for you
I do it all for you

Everything I say you know it's the truth
I'll say it is the truth

I'll take all the pressure of of you
Take pressure off of you

I'll take, the pressure off of you

[Verse #2: Lupe Fiasco]
Uhh, it's hella proper (proper)
Cause it sag so low you can see boxer, like a boxer's
That's the way that the family's pants worn 'em
Don't be sly, and try and put 'em on
The stones in the pocket'll drag you down to Davy Jones' locker
Beware if you wanna Roc the Knickerbocker
Other nigga from the block what, they was selling O's
Like Wheel of Fortune, of imported cocaine
Just to feel important, it was "Do or Die"
They was tired of being "Po' Pimps," not for sure
That was just a product of my common sense
I guess, I was just guessing like the consonants
Mama said beware of what the devil do
Tell 'em that your soul's not for sale like the W's
So go ahead and pirate, the highest
Cannons make you leak like pirated my shh..
It's no shh.. it's just shh like quiet
And big homey's out of retirement

[Chorus: Gemini]
It's my life (my life),

Everything I do I do for you
I do it all for you

Everything I say you know it's the truth
I'll say it is the truth

I'll take all the pressure of of you
Take pressure off of you

I'll take, the pressure off of you

[Verse #3: Jay-Z]
Uhh, Young, uhh
So the pen is mightier than the sword, my lord
My first picture was a line-up, now I'm on the Forbes
And I still remain an artiste through thees all
If you force my hand, I'll be forced to "draw"
If the war calls for Warhols
Hope you got enough space on your hall's walls
I make niggas murals, then escape the bureau's
Investigation, out in Europe on vacation
I'm back for these puppies with the pound boy
(Blaow) Here's a round boy (blaow blaow) down boy
Sound boy, you don't wanna soundclash loud noise
Leave niggas paranoid if not paralyzed
Which means you can't walk in my shoes
Too much green, you can't talk in my hue
Extended team, nigga holla at Lu'
1st and 15th, that's my cue, through

[Chorus: Gemini]
It's my life (my life),

Everything I do I do for you
I do it all for you

Everything I say you know it's the truth
I'll say it is the truth

I'll take all the pressure of of you
Take pressure off of you

I'll take, the pressure off of you

  1. Not to many people get into this song...they just know the track is hot..also the wordplay is really intricate on both parts...but when broken down ..it seems as if Jay and Lupe are taking jabs at each other..Lupe speaks of "beware the Roc".."dont sell your soul"..stuff of this nature..he regular does this in his songs in which he is either featured with Jay OR discussing Jay-Z.. he constantly distances himself from Roc Nation and refers very slickly of "satanic" things when in conjunction with th two.(Popular Demand for example) just a speculation but this is what I got.
    Uhh, it's hella proper (proper)
Cause it sag so low you can see boxer, like a boxer's
He is making a reference back to the pants in his first verse .Boxer's shorts regularly slide down, Boxers are a name for underwear

That's the way that the family's pants worn 'em
Don't be sly, and try and put 'em on
"The Roc Nation was formerly known as "La Familia"
The stones in the pocket'll drag you down to Davy Jones' locker
"Ok stones he is refering both to cocaine(rocks)and wealth(like diamonds)
"Davy Jones Locker" was like a sailor's Hell
its also reference to all the water and pirate lines from his first verse.
    You keep clothes in a locker...like "Roc-A-Wear"
Davy Jones was like Satan of the Sea he ran "Davy Jones Locker"..similiarly to how Jay-Z runs Roc-A-Wear
Beware if you wanna Roc the Knickerbocker
"Lupe is warning you of messing with and wearing Roc-a-Wear" and Roc Nation..this is a clever line also becuase Knickerbocker means pants AND The Knicks-of New York used to be called the Knickerbockers
Other nigga from the block what, they was selling O's
Like Wheel of Fortune, of imported cocaine
Just to feel important, it was "Do or Die"
They was tired of being "Po' Pimps,"
"damn this is a real intricate part..ok when he says selling O's he is referring to how when you buy a vowel on "Wheel Of Fortune"..also selling drugs...somebody told me it sounds like he says "selling souls"..dont know about that though lol
"Do or Die with the Po Pimp" is a Chicago rap group..Lupe is referencing to his home city and how these dudes are selling drugs..(and maybe they soul) to be rich.
    not for sure
That was just a product of my common sense
I guess, I was just guessing like the consonants
"Lupe says here that he isnt sure but his common sense dictates that those are the reasons they do it...."guessing like consonants" is a reference to "Wheel of Fortune" usually after you bought vowels people just guessed the consonants
Mama said beware of what the devil do
Tell 'em that your soul's not for sale like the W's
"beware(again) of the devil(reference to Davy Jones and maybe Jay-Z)"
"Tell'em that your soul's not for sale like the W's...you couldnt buy W's in wheel of fortune..and tell the devil your soul aint for sell
So go ahead and pirate, the highest
"Hoarde or collect the best people"
Cannons make you leak like pirated my shh..
"Cannons is back to the ship metaphor...Lupe's album was leaked and "pirated" heavily
It's no shh.. it's just shh like quiet
And big homey's out of retirement
"It's no shhh(shit) like saying "no shit..everybody knows my album was pirated...but shhh! keep it on the low about the Roc..OH and guess what the next line says
    big homey's out of retirement
notice what the chorus is saying:
    It's my life (my life),
Everything I do I do for you(fans the people)
I do it all for you
Everything I say you know it's the truth(What he is saying about ROC Jay Z and The Game is TRUE)
I'll say it is the truth
I'll take all the pressure of of you
    Take pressure off of you
I'll take, the pressure off of you

    Jay-Z verse is is threatening...
